Innovative Treatments for Vitiligo: What’s New in 2025?

Updated: Jun 17, 2025

Exploring the Latest in Vitiligo Treatment

Vitiligo is a complex skin condition that affects pigmentation, but thanks to ongoing research, innovative treatments are continuously evolving. At DAO Clinic, we are proud to offer the most advanced therapies available, helping our patients restore their skin’s appearance and improve their quality of life.

What’s New in Vitiligo Treatments?

In recent years, Vitiligo treatments have made significant progress. Below are some of the top treatments we offer:

  • Topical JAK Inhibitors: These medications block the immune system’s signals that cause the destruction of melanocytes. JAK inhibitors have shown promising results in stimulating repigmentation in Vitiligo patients.

  • Phototherapy & Excimer Laser: These therapies use ultraviolet (UV) light to stimulate melanocytes in the skin. Excimer lasers, in particular, target specific areas of Vitiligo, promoting faster and more effective repigmentation.

  • Skin Grafting & Melanocyte Transplants: For patients with larger patches of Vitiligo, skin grafting or melanocyte transplantations can be effective in restoring pigment. This involves transplanting healthy skin or melanocytes to the depigmented areas.

  • Microneedling & PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma): When used together, these treatments can enhance repigmentation by stimulating the skin and increasing collagen production.

Challenges in Skin of Color

For patients with skin of color, Vitiligo can present unique challenges in treatment. At DAO Clinic, we ensure that our treatments are tailored to each individual, taking into account the specific needs of diverse skin tones.
